Dr. Hanauer is a world leader in the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD).

 

Dr. Hanauer is the past chair of the Immunology, Microbiology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease Section of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA). He is the recipient of the AGA's Fiterman Award for Clinical Research.

 

He previously served as a member and chair of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Gastrointestinal Drugs Advisory Committee and currently chairs the International Organization for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

 

Dr. Hanauer is a member of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America 's National Scientific Advisory Committee.

Sunanda Kane, MD

Assistant Professor of Medicine

Section of Gastroenterology and Nutrition

University of Chicago Hospitals

 

Dr. Kane is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and an emerging figure in the diagnosis and treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

 

In addition to a medical degree Dr. Kane also holds a masters degree in biostatistics and epidemiology. 

 

Dr Kane is strongly involved in both inflammatory bowel disease organizations and women's health organizations.
